Last Friday was one of the happiest days of my life. I took Nathan to receive his first haircut. Well, it wasn’t technically his “first” haircut. I have been trimming here and there since he was about 6 months old, but this was his first significant cut by a professional (yes, I am willing to admit that I am not one in the area of hair). I have been waiting for this moment for about 2 months now. Brad wanted to be there to experience the moment with us (but I don’t think he was really motivated by the actual act of taking time out of the day to drive to and spend time at a busy salon or barber shop). So I waited and waited…I then decided if I waited any longer, the child would be sporting a mullet. So, I called around and one of the local salons was able to get him in quickly. The whole process took about 30 minutes and I could hardly believe that this little boy (at 16 months) sat quiet and still through the entire thing! It was unbelievable. I didn’t even have to pull out the many toys and snacks I had brought to distract him. He was such a big boy and had just about everyone in the salon impressed with his behavior. Yep, this was definitely a proud mama moment for me.
