The Fasanerie (Pheasantry) is another amazing and absolutely free park here in Wiesbaden. Nate and I love the variety of animals that we can see (and sometimes pet), but we love the nature walk through the Fasanerie even more. Even though it lies in the city and is always bustling with loads of kids, it is actually a really relaxing place to visit. If we time things right, we also get to witness some of the animals being fed. Our favorite feeding time is with the bears and wolves that coexist. To my surprise, the bears will choose the vegetables while the wolves carry off much of the slabs of meat.

Educational and interactive, the Fasanerie also comes complete with a huge spielplatz, nature education center, restaurant and¬†Biergarten (yes, even at a place for kids–it’s Germany!) and free, public bathrooms. Here are some of our favorite moments from this summer…
