Frisbee Golf-I Thought He Had Forgotten

This past weekend was the most beautiful I have experienced since being here in New England. The weather was perfect and the scenery was picturesque. Brad and I decided to take advantage of the weather and go for a little hike. I was excited about the idea until he said those words that I thought were of days long ago…

frisbee golf. Brad decided to take me to Buffumville Lake where we could do some hiking, take some pictures of the changing trees, overlook the Buffemville Dam, and oh yeah-play frisbee golf. I was first introduced to frisbee golf by Brad a few years back when we were in Tucson. We bought a few frisbees (they are sold like golf clubs-there is a driver, a putter, and I don’t know any more because I don’t care!) and took to a course a couple of times. I was not fond of the game. The only time I like playing with a frisbee is when my dogs will go get it, not me. So, it was amazing to see that when we got to Buffemville, there were quite a few people on the golf course. Each one carrying a big shoulder bag filled with their varying frisbees. I did not realize that there were actually people who enjoyed the sport. They also took it seriously and gave a true effort in trying to throw the frisbee in the catcher thingy. I immediately became intimidated. Brad was brave enough to practice his skills on the course. Poor thing. I’ll be generous and say that it wasn’t a course for a beginner like Brad. The one time I did toss my frisbee, it flew into a spruce tree. I guess I should try to give it an honest effort. Brad really does seem to enjoy it along with all the others on the course that day. So maybe I’ll do some practicing in the backyard where I have an open space, but shhhhh…don’t tell Brad. I don’t want to lead him on into thinking I have actually starting taking an interest in it. If you know Brad, he will want to take part in it ALL the time just like he did with mountain biking, road biking, kayaking, fishing, fly fishing, wood working, building websites, etc., etc.
