Trip to the Cape

Our trip to the Cape was as expected-great! It is no secret that I love the Cape. It holds beautiful beaches, historic lighthouses, quaint little artisan shops, and old coastal charm throughout its many towns. Aside from shopping and hitting the beach for my traditional act of searching for seashells, we went kayaking, fishing, and discovered a few new areas (some hidden) that we had not been to before.

Our kayaking adventure was just that. We decided to venture up the Bass River and troll our fishing lines hoping to catch some striped bass. The water was very clean and clear, yet I did not see any fish bigger than a minnow my whole time on the water. Brad and I did see tons of jelly fish! In one shallow area, we also saw a stingray. I was hoping we would catch some fish at least for Brad’s sake. I think he was bummed out when we left empty handed. I can say that I did catch something-it just didn’t have fins or eyes. With my line trailing behind me, I caught like two trees that were growing on the bank. Brad had to help me get untangled a few times. The current kept me drifting towards the bank! I’ll have to make that fishing trip up to him!
