Spring is finally in the air! After a long winter, it is so nice to see God’s creation resurface. Everything is blooming, the sun is bright, the grass is green, and there is a light breeze that carries the scent of flowers. We have a small stream that runs through forested area right near our house, so at night we can hear the frogs. It is a sound of comfort to hear them, for then we know that their environment is in balance.
This week I am off of work due to Spring Break. I could not be happier! I love my job, but we have had a long winter here in New England. Everyone seems to have caught “spring fever”. Brad and I are definitely two of them! Brad has also gotten bit by the fishin’ bug. He is out while I speak. He left me to rest and will be back shortly to pick me up. I love to kayak and to fish. I can’t say that I feel up to fishing today though. I do plan on “catching” up on my reading and some knitting. So, why do I need to rest on such a gorgeous day? I have been extremely tired the past few days. I went to the doctor this past week for recurring migraine headaches. I was having 1-2 a week. Apparently, for now at least, this is a chronic condition I must deal with. To provide me with some relief, my doctor put me on a preventative medication. The down side of course is trying to get used to the medication. It makes me dreadfully tired and weak, and my mouth feels constantly dry. It has interrupted my training. I have not been able to run as long as the plan specifies, but I am walking. I hope I regain my strength soon. There is much to do this week! I can’t miss the marathon on Monday. Brad said that he heard Lance Armstrong will be there running it this year. We also have a trip planned to one of my favorite places on earth-Cape Cod.
