Fishing on the Assabet River

Assabet River FishingIt was another abnormal October day in Massachusetts. Today I took a second trip on the Assabet River.  This time I started down stream in Hudson and paddled up for about an hour. The current in that area is slower and I ran in to a couple other kayakers.

I used a new technique to keep track of time.  I loaded up my iPod with four short sermons that were 28 minutes each. I paddled up for two and floated down for the rest. an hour of paddling is a pretty good workout.

On the way down I hooked onto three fish. The first was a teensy bass. The second was a colorful Rainbow Trout.  This was the first trout I caught in New England. I had forgetten how beautiful those fish are. The last fish was the standard pickerel.

It was a nice day…I caught some fish and took some pictures to share with you.  Enjoy!
