A Day in Seattle

We took a trip to Seattle with Darin, Sara, Brendan and Alexia.
It was a very nice Washington day – only a few minutes of light rain
and the rest was clear skies.

We started the day with a ferry ride from Bremerton to
Seattle.  After a nice, scenic ride, we had arrived and decided to
grab a bite to
eat.  We had some seafood by the seashore at Ivars.  They are
famous for their clams – it was some good eatin’ and we were charged up
for the long
walks.

We headed out and went to Pikes Market.
This was Deanna’s favorite place. She is still talking about it. Pike’s
is an outdoor marketplace with lots of fresh flowers,
bakeries, fish, crafts and
more.  Deanna and I had our names written in Chinese by a nice
man that had some paintings he was selling.  Pikes Market is the
place where the guys throw the fish to each other and then package it
up when
bought.  We tried to catch some pictures of some flying fish, but
nobody was buying. Then again, it was a Monday.

We then walked by the original Starbucks and Darin
grabbed a fresh brew.   Next, we headed for the Monorail to
check out the Space Needle.  The Space Needle was tall, but I was expecting
taller.  Maybe I heard too many people talk about it before I saw
it.  We rode up and it was a very nice view.  Of course on
the way up, Deanna and Sara giggled like scared little girls.
However, I didn’t hear a peep from Alexia and she really is a little
girl.

We had some dinner at Red Robin before heading back to the
ferry.  Poor little Alexia got very sick at dinner and it lasted for a
good part of the night.

The
ferry ride home was much more
crowded than the trip to Seattle.  Everyone was heading home from
the workday. We got stuck by the men’s room
since there were so many people on the boat.  Now we see why those
seats were left empty by most others. P-yew! The sunset was beautiful
and there was a crispness to the air outside. We stopped off at, no
other than, Starbucks for a hot brew. We were ready to head home by
then. The car ride home was fun just talking and laughing together.
