A Joyous Christmas

Whew! It is hard to believe that Christmas has already come and gone.
Although it seemed to fly by, we have some great memories to share…

Our Christmas officially started this past Wednesday when Darin, Sara,
Brendan, and Alexia made their way into Tucson. Their visit was made
part of their route to Bremerton, WA, where they will call home for the
next 4-6 months. From there, they are hoping to get orders to
Charleston, SC.

That Wednesday, we also received a furry visit from our labrador buddy,
Sonora. Her "dad", John, works with Brad and needed a babysitter for
her. We were more than happy to help him out. Sonora has stayed with us
before when Brad took a biking trip over the Labor Day weekend this
past year. She is just under a year old. She resembles Bailey in
appearance and shares his enthusiasm for people. She is also quite the
snuggler!

Thursday morning we all woke and took a trip to Park Place mall. Darin
and Sara took the kids to visit Santa, while Brad and I finished some
last minute shopping. That night , Santa was able to make an early
visit to our house since Darin, Sara, and the kids would have to leave
Christmas morning. Santa was good to everyone, although Brendan was a
little disappointed that Santa did not feel he was old enough for a
"Transformer".  I think he was most excited about the licorice that
Santa left him, for he did not want to stop eating it.

Friday, all of us went to Brad's mom's house for a Christmas dinner
that she and Lane had cooked up. After relaxing a bit, we shared our
gifts with one another. Brad and I received some gift certificates to
our favorite spots. Bailey and Brandon also made out pretty good. That
night we all went to a Christmas Eve service at our church. It was
beautiful. We sang Christmas songs and then took communion.

Saturday morning we said our "good-byes" to Darin, Sara, and the kids.
After all the excitement of the holiday (having two kids along with
three other furry kids in the house), there was only one more thing for
Brad and I to do-take a Christmas nap!
