It was the day before Easter and all through the house . . . Wait wrong story. Well, really, it was the day before Easter and we arrived at our shack, the dogs were excited to see we were back.
We went to Target, our new local store. Bailey seemed hyper, even more than before. We peeked in the window and then opened the door. To our surprise was a mess on the floor. While we were gone, Bailey found an Easter treat. We could tell it was him by the chocolate on his feet. He had eaten two chocolate bunnies, a bag of chocolate eggs and some reeses. Out of all we purchased, the only thing left were some wrapper pieces. Deanna ran to the phone to call up the Vet’s office. Chocolate + dogs = toxic as most of you know this. Deanna told the Vet all that she bought. The Vet responded with “Wow! Thats a lot.” We located the wrappers to read the package weight. Based on Bailey’s size the dosage was safe. We spent the rest of the day watching him rest. It was pretty obvious he wasn’t feeling his best. At the end of the day Bailey was just fine. We kept the chocolate in a container, but I think we will lock it up next time.
