Today we went to the Gem show to find rocks to inlay in some of Brad’s pens. After numerous laps around the small section of the show we were at, we finally chose some rocks to take. We rummaged through a box of rocks (some blue lapiz, purple stuff and pink stuff) Brad marched up to the seller to pay. As Brad was standing there with his thirty-one dollars waving around, the man punched some numbers oÂn a calculator and weighed all the rocks. He placed them in a bag and stuck his hand out while saying “One. Twenty.” Was that a dollar twenty for all those rocks? Brad thought maybe he should get some more at this bargain price. Of course he had no idea whether it was a bargain or not cause he was clueless. We asked, “One hundred twenty dollars?” very clearly since the man had an accent, so we thought he must be mistaken. Well, the price was $120. We decided to search longer for some pebbles to do the pen inlays. Who would have thought trying to buy some rocks would turn into such an ordeal…
